Voter-Centred Election Reporting, AI and Accountability

4 Feb, 2026
The training brought together Lusaka and non-Lusaka-based journalists from across the country to strengthen responsible and credible election coverage.

MISA Zambia, in collaboration with DW Akademie Africa, just concluded a two-day capacity-strengthening training on ethical, professional and election reporting ahead of the 2026 General Elections. The training was conducted from 3-4 February 2026 in Lusaka.

The training, themed ‘Voter-Centred Election Reporting, AI and Accountability’, brought together Lusaka and non-Lusaka-based journalists from across the country to strengthen responsible and credible election coverage.

The training enhanced journalists’ understanding of the electoral legal framework, media codes of conduct and the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence in information gathering and dissemination while sharpening practical skills in reporting on campaigns, polling, vote counting and post-election developments.

This initiative reaffirms MISA Zambia’s commitment to media freedom, professionalism and ethical journalism, contributing to peaceful, credible and transparent elections in 2026.
