MISA conducts Information Sessions on ATI Law in Kitwe and Kabwe

The information sessions were conducted under the USAID Open Spaces Zambia Project

MISA Zambia is proud to have been in Kitwe and Kabwe conducting information sessions with Panos Institute Southern Africa (PSAf) on Access to Information Law to a spectrum of stakeholders that included human rights defenders, media personnel and grassroots communities using edutainment approaches.

The information sessions were aimed at building stakeholder understanding on Access to Information (ATI), the contents of the ATI Bill and mobilizing stakeholder involvement in the ongoing advocacy for the enactment of the ATI law.

The information sessions were conducted under the USAID Open Spaces Zambia Project. The USAID OSZ project which is funded by USAID and implemented by Internews in partnership with FHI 360.

The objectives of the project are to strengthen the democratic foundations of freedom of speech and assembly; build independent and new media; and safeguard a space for activists, human rights defenders (HRDs), and oppositional voices to protect the democratic space in Zambia.
