MISA Zambia is confident that Mr. Malido will contribute significantly to the realization of the IBA’s vision while also playing a pivotal role in protecting and promoting the rights and welfare of the media in Zambia.

LUSAKA – MISA Zambia would like to extend its heartfelt congratulations to the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) on the appointment of Mr. Webster Malido as the new Director General.

We warmly welcome Mr. Malido’s appointment, recognizing his wealth of experience and deep understanding of the media landscape. With over 20 years of professional expertise spanning journalism, corporate communication, and governance, Mr. Malido brings a unique blend of skills to this important role.

His extensive experience in the financial services and development finance sectors across various African markets further strengthens his capacity to lead the IBA effectively.

Mr. Malido’s media journey includes his tenure as a journalist and editor at The Post Newspaper, where he made notable contributions to strengthening editorial standards and promoting journalistic integrity. Additionally, his service as a non-executive director at the Zambia Daily Mail reflects his commitment to advancing media excellence within governance structures.

With such a strong background in media, we are confident that Mr. Malido will be a formidable advocate for media freedom and freedom of expression in Zambia. His leadership comes at a crucial time when safeguarding these freedoms is essential to sustaining democracy and promoting transparent governance.
