The Media Self-Regulation Council of Zambia (MSCZ) today officially launched its Secretariat in Lusaka, marking a significant step forward in promoting ethical journalism, press freedom and accountability in the media sector.
MISA Zambia Chairperson Lorraine Mwanza-Chisanga called it a major milestone for media accountability and continued media autonomy.
The launch was graced by the Honourable Minister of Information and Media, Mr. Cornelius Mweetwa, who emphasized that journalists must remain the custodians of truth, entrusted with the responsibility to shape narratives, challenge injustice and educate the nation.
The Secretariat will serve as the administrative and technical hub for the Council, supporting its work on handling public complaints, promoting media ethics, facilitating stakeholder engagement and enhancing the overall credibility of the media landscape.
