MISA Zambia launches the 2023 Platinum and Golden Media Awards

The Platinum and Golden Media Awards are a high-profile event which recognize and celebrate the role that media plays in good governance

MISA Zambia today launched its 21st edition of the Platinum and Golden Media Awards with a focus on appreciating the role journalists play in strengthening democracy and good governance.

The Platinum and Golden Media Awards are a high-profile event which brings together government leaders, diplomatic corps, civil society and the corporate sector who gather to recognize and celebrate the role that media plays in good governance.

Delivering a keynote address at the launch of the Awards, MISA Zambia Board Treasurer Linda Siwingwa says the awards recognize the work of individuals or institutions that have made significant contributions to the promotion of media freedom in the country and those that have promoted excellent journalism.

Ms Siwingwa added that the awards are open to journalists from the private and public media as well as freelancers.

The categories under MISA Zambia sponsorship include;

i) Golden Award Television

ii) Golden Award Commercial Radio

iii) Golden Award Community Radio

iv) Golden Award Print

v) Golden Award Online

vi) The Platinum Award

Other partners and sponsors of the awards include Diakonia, Panos Institute of Southern Africa, The Zambia Medicines and Regulations Authority (ZAMRA), NGOCC, Multichoice Zambia, The Public Service Pensions Fund, Buy Local Campaign, and the Industrial Development Corporation.

The awards which will be held on 15th September 2023 are since officially open for entries effective Thursday 22nd June 2023 and will close on 1st September 2023.
