MISA Zambia in learning event on Digital Rights Advocacy

MISA Zambia was among the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) that participated in a three-day Learning event facilitated by Internews Network Zambia.
The event focused on Mapping Digital Rights Trends, offering insights into the current state and future directions of digital rights, emphasizing advocacy and collaborative strategies.
Day one centered on gaining insight into Digital Rights, Current Trends, and a discussion panel on digital rights in Zambia.
On the second day of the CSO learning event, discussions were on Digital Rights Issues and Advocacy, including Privacy, Surveillance, and Freedom of Expression. The lessons aimed to champion Digital Rights and lay the groundwork for a dedicated Digital Rights Agenda tailored to Zambia’s needs.
Through the different presentations, participants were provided with valuable insights, tools, and strategies to effectively navigate the complex terrain of digital rights advocacy.
Day three focused on learning about strategies, collaboration, and planning for digital rights. Discussions centered on how civil society organizations can work together and make plans to protect people’s rights in the digital world. Through interactive sessions and practical examples, attendees gained insights into effective ways to advocate for digital rights and create action plans. Overall, the day provided participants with valuable tools and knowledge to advocate for digital rights with confidence.
