CLGs provide eager participants for the radio programme and are a great source of feedback
Last week MISA Zambia was in Mongu, Senanga, Limulunga and Nalolo in the continued distribution of radio sets to Community Listening Groups (CLGs).
MISA Zambia in partnership with Farm Radio International and working with Oblate Radio Liseli the On Air for inclusive and gender-responsive Nature-based Solutions Project is supporting 10 CLGs affiliated to Oblate Radio Liseli in Mongu.
CLGs provide eager participants for the radio programme and are a great source of feedback.
Members value the radio for the information it provides, but they also know that they are useful to the radio station as listeners.
The members were also being re-oriented on the use of Uliza (Swahili for “ask”) which is being used in the project.
This is an interactive voice response system to enable listeners to communicate and exchange information with their radio station quickly, easily and free of charge.
To participate in Uliza, listeners begin by calling a certain phone number and immediately it cuts them and then calls them back so that they make their contribution.
