MISA Zambia has announced its first ever Media Awards Policy.

Addressing the media, MISA Zambia Chairperson Hellen Mwale says the policy has been developed to improve competitiveness, quality and value of the awards.

In a speech read for her MISA Zambia Governor Jetty Lungu, Ms. Mwale said due to this policy her organisation has also made changes to the number of awards and the calendar for the award ceremony which has been moved from April to September every year.

Ms. Mwale further said that MISA Zambia will now be sponsoring only six awards.

She however, explained that other organisations are at liberty to sponsor any other awards as shall be prescribed provided that such will meet the conditions stipulated in the new media awards policy.

The MISA Zambia Chairperson named the six awards to be sponsored by her organisation as the Platinum Award, which is the Media Freedom Award, and the other five in the Golden category which include; Golden Award Television, Golden Award Radio, Golden Award Community Radio, Golden Award Print, and Golden Award Online.

All these will be the best in their categories.

Entries for the 2019 MISA Zambia Media Awards opens on 12th July 2019 and close on 28th August 2019.
