MISA Zambia all set for World Press Freedom Day 2015

MISA Zambia is hosting the 2015 World Press Freedom Day Local Organising Committee as the secretariat.

MISA Zambia is hosting the 2015 World Press Freedom Day Local Organising Committee as the secretariat. The committee comprises over fifteen organisations and stakeholders that contribute to the promotion of media freedom in Zambia.

A number of activities have been scheduled leading to the official commemoration on Monday, 4 May 2015. Scheduled activities include a media training and mentorship programme on 28 April, an exhibition by media organisations and digital service providers on 30 April, the much-anticipated Media Sports Tournament on 2 May and a Women-in-Media seminar on 5 May 2015.

Among activities planned for the commemoration include a march by over 200 media practitioners and stakeholders, presentation of the Best Climate Change Reporting Award, Presentation of the Unesco Award and interaction with various movers and shakers in the media industry in Zambia.

Activities are planned for provincial and district centres.
