It has come to our attention that there are some unscrupulous individuals who have set up an online news publication called “the Zambian Informer” purporting to have set up the same with the support of MISA Zambia when in fact not.

We wish to inform the public that at no time has MISA allowed any individuals to set up the said website in the name of the institution or to use the MISA address in so doing.

MISA wishes to dissociate and distance itself from the website and its proprietors as the institution will not take responsibility for any losses that may arise from any dealings with the said online publication.

MISA believes in a responsible press, including online media that adhere to the tenets of journalism and not to hide behind a veil of anonymity to commit all sorts of injustices and injury to reputation.

We wish to warn the individuals behind the said online publication-the Zambian Informer to immediately refrain from purporting to be operating in partnership or with the support of MISA Zambia.

We call on all media practitioners to remain professional in their activities despite the harsh media landscape currently obtaining in the country.

Hellen Mwale,

Chairperson

MISA Zambia Chapter
